Xbox 720 Launches in 2011-2012

Posted by BlognThings in

While Sony already admitted to be thinking about the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo are no doubt developing a Wii 2… In an interview with the head of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division, Peter Moore, EGM magazine asked him when their next video game console would come out, and also asked if they’d drop support for the Xbox 360 like they did with the original Xbox. He said that they were going to support it “as long as it sold.” Possibly because they saw the Xbox sell well into 2007 despite not producing the console after October 2005.

He said the production team from the Xbox 360 is working on the next Xbox 720 [our pet name], and their looking into what kind of CPUs will be available on the market in 2011-2012.

Xbox 360 sales hit 17.7M

Posted by BlognThings in

Thanks to the holiday season, Xbox 360 worldwide sales have reached 17.7 million units. Last we heard about Xbox 360 sales was back in October when Microsoft reported they've sold 13.4 million units and its gaming division profited for the first time.

Microsoft also mentioned that Halo 3 has sold over 8.1 million copies since its September 25th debut and Mass Effect has sold over 1.6 million copies since its release on November 20th. We last heard about sales for the two games early last month, when it was reported that Halo 3 sold 5 million copies and Mass Effect reached over 1 million copies.

In addition to the two big titles, November NPD data reports that the Xbox 360 has a record-high software attach rate of 6.9.

Due to the surplus sales of the Xbox 360 this holiday, Xbox Live suffered from problems and inpromptu downtimes. But what do you expect for introducing waves of new Xbox 360s to Xbox Live every waking moment?

networking xbox to pc computer networks

Posted by BlognThings in

Introduction

In order to connect to your Xbox you must create a simple network connection between your computer and your Xbox. There are three easy ways to do this. You can use a hub/switch, a router, or a crossover cable. This tutorial will show you how to configure the hardware. Remember though, You will not actually be able to login to your xbox until you have installed and configured the EvolutionX dashboard.
Xbox Network Connection using Hub

This is the most common network configuration and is also the easiest to setup.
Step #1: Plug your network cable(RJ-45 cable) that comes from your cable/DSL modem into the uplink port of your hub. (Make sure that your uplink is switched to "on").
Step #2: Take an RJ-45 cable and run it from one of the ports of the hub, directly to the Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in your computer.
Step #3: Take another RJ-45 cable and run it from a different port of your hub directly to your xbox.

**NOTE** A switch may be used in place of a hub with the same basic setup.**

That's it! No other network changes should be needed for this configuration. Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC.

Xbox Network Connection using Router

This is another common network configuration.
Step #1: Plug your network cable(RJ-45 cable) that comes from your modem into the WAN port of your router.
Step #2: Take an RJ-45 cable and run it from one of the ports of the router, directly to the Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in your computer.
Step #3: Take another RJ-45 cable and run it from a different port of your router directly to your xbox.

**NOTE** In steps #2 and #3, you should not use a port that is directly beside the "uplink" port on your router, if your uplink port is being used to connect to another routing device.** If your router has a built in firewall, you will need to forward ports 8602 both incoming and outgoing to the internal ip address of your pc. Consult your device manaul for port forwarding.

That's it! Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC

Xbox Network Connection using Crossover Cable

This is the last network configuration. For this setup you need at least one NIC card.
Step #1: Plug your USB cable that comes from your modem into your PC's USB port. This should already be done, if you have a usb modem for your current internet connection.
Step #2: Take an RJ-45 cable and run it from an installed NIC card on your PC, directly to the Xbox.

**NOTE** A crossover cable is only needed if you are connecting the Xbox directly to the second NIC card. If you have a device such as a switch, hub or router in between you should use a standard RJ-45 cable. This type of network setup also requires "Winroute©", a program downloadable from the world wide web. Consult the manual for specific instructions on how to set this up. Also if you have a USB ethernet adapter, you may use any of the setups described herein. USB ethernet adapter basically converts a USB cable into an RJ-45 cable.

That's it! Your Xbox is now on the same network as your PC.

Defeat Bizarro: "Me Am You"

Bizarro has great destructive powers and an obsessive, reverse-logic urge to "save" Metropolis by obliterating it. The key is to keep him occupied with "helping" (destroying) you instead. Get his attention with superpower blasts—but use them without burst activation, as he's immune to burst superpowers.

When you get in close, mix in any of your melee moves and combos except Grab attacks (he's immune to those, too) to deal damage to him. Justice Bringer is a good combo against Bizarro.

Bizarro is very fast; keep your thumb near the Block button, ready to get defensive when he starts his long combo strings and intense superpower attacks. He has a 50 percent chance to block any attack you launch at him, so be patient and prepared for a long battle in which you wear him down slowly.

When you defeat Bizarro, he escapes and you gain 15,000 of the 60,000 XP you need to complete this chapter. The other 45,000 XP must be earned 7,500 at a time by completing six of the following Metro Events, which will occur in random order as before. Some possible events are waves of robots you've seen before. Other waves are comprised of the cloned creatures that have escaped from Cadmus.
